Christ the King Catholic High School
As the newly appointed Headteacher of Christ the King Catholic High School, it is both a privilege and a joy to welcome you to our school website.
Christ the King is a voluntary-aided, co-educational Catholic secondary school for students aged 11 to 16, serving the vibrant Catholic community of Preston within the Diocese of Lancaster. Our dedicated staff are well supported by the experienced Governing Body, as well as the Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Multi Academy Trust where we work as ‘One Family in Christ’ with the other schools in our Trust.

The Curriculum at Christ the King
At the heart of our curriculum is the development of the God-given talents of all our students. We are blessed to welcome children full of potential in Year 7 and to see them grow into successful young adults by Year 11. It is our responsibility as a school community to support all learners in becoming the best they can be.
Our overriding ambition is to cater to the needs of every student, enhance social mobility, and enable each child to achieve more than they ever thought possible, and prepare them for the wider world.
Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Trust
Mater Ecclesiae is one of three Catholic Multi Academy Trusts (CMATs) formed by the Diocese of Lancaster to protect, preserve, nourish and enhance the Catholic religion through the establishment, maintenance and development of Catholic schools.
Mater Ecclesiae was formed in 2022 and currently consists of seven Catholic primary schools and one Catholic secondary school. In geographical terms, the Trust extends across Preston and rural Preston and all are within the local authority area of Lancashire. We currently have 287 staff and educate over 2,200 children and young people in our care. Our head office is located in Fulwood, Preston.

School Admissions
Applying for place at Christ the King Catholic High School during the school year (In-Year Admissions)
In Year Admissions are admissions to school which take place outside the normal admissions rounds for Year 7 students.
If you are new to the area and require a school place or if you already reside in the area and you want to move your child from their current local school to our school, your application should be made directly to our school and the child will be admitted where there are available places. Please inform your current school that you are seeking an alternative school as they will be unable to supply the information we will need to support the application unless you have done so.
