During ‘National Apprenticeship’ week (14th to 18th March) Claire Massey from Lancashire County Council Employment Support Team delivered an interactive presentation to Year 11 students regarding apprenticeships opportunities, the entry requirements and how to research and apply.  In addition to this a current apprentice attended to share her experience of being and apprentice at Primary School.  At DWP/HMRC offices Year 10 gained insight into careers with the Civil Service with a questions and answer session with a Fast Track apprentice.  Having the opportunity to speak to real life apprentices as role models and how and why they chose this route has more of an impact on the students.

Preston’s College held an apprenticeship drop in session for Year 11 in the Guidance Centre one lunchtime.  Students were invited to attend their career event at college at which employers would be promoting their current vacancies.  Some of our Year 11 visited this event and were very positive the next day and had applied for some of the vacancies on offer.
