Our librarian took a group of Year 7 and 8 girls from the Reading Club to the Council Chambers at County Hall to meet author Cathy Cassidy. Cathy gave insight into the writing process and talked about herself – the girls were very interested in the fact that she often got into trouble for day dreaming when she was at school! Cathy also read extracts from her popular girls’ books. It was fascinating to visit the Council Chambers, meet the author of books we have in our school library, and take home a few signed copies of her stories to treasure.
